FEATURES: How it has been the first hybrid in history

Fitur celebrated its 41st edition from May 19th to 23rd, 2021. It was held in a hybrid format, meaning both in-person and virtual. It concluded with the participation of 5,000 companies from 55 countries across 5 different continents, totaling 62,000 in-person attendees and 40,000 digital attendees.

 

The Impact of Fitur 

The feature has meant first in-person trade fair to be held in Europe, with the goal of being the starting point for the reactivation in the tourism industry. This year’s event was particularly special for the entire sector given the circumstances of the past year and a half. It highlighted the urgent need for a recovery in both the events industry and global tourism.

The impact of this latest edition, dubbed “Special Tourism Recovery”It has been very successful, even with a 50% capacity. It has had a major impact on the capital with the arrival of all the organizers and attendees, resulting in a total of approximately 100 million euros thanks to the Hybrid format.

How Fitur Was Held 

 

It was the first edition of Fitur held in a hybrid. The importance of the in-person event has been maintained, as have the advantages and opportunities offered by the virtual component. No more, no less. 40,000 visitors who were able to attend online from almost one hundred different countries, offering professional opportunities.

79 countries participated in Fitur 2021 thanks to the digital platform who created LiveConnect Feature, which will be active until June 4th. It is the largest professional network for the tourism industry as a complement to what has been in-person assistance.

The LiveConnect feature is accessible. via web and mobile app with which IFEMA has bet on the digitalization of its fairs with the aim of promoting products and services that allow reaching different markets and thus increasing its reach.

To connect so many attendees and organizers, Fitur relied on the work and support of enbex. We were responsible for providing Wi-Fi and wired connectivity across more than 25,000 square meters of exhibition space. We designed, installed, and configured the entire trade show network and various Wi-Fi services in a short amount of time to ensure connection given the large number of users connected, it is a Wi-Fi system for events

This year’s edition has been different but very rewarding for the entire industry, both in tourism and events. The tourism sector in Spain relies on international visitors for 70% of its revenue.
